Josef Ortner (politician)

Josef Ortner (born September 2, 1925 in St. Florian am Inn ; † May 24, 1988 in Grieskirchen ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and tax officer. From 1970 to 1973 he was a member of the National Council and a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

Ortner worked as a tax officer after primary and secondary school and was also involved as a staff representative. From January 1, 1946, he was also politically active as a councilor in Grieskirchen, and he also became a councilor for the municipality. On November 17, 1967, he was sworn in for the first time as a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag, and he held this position until May 20, 1970. Ortner then moved between March 31, 1970 and November 8, 1973 as a member of the National Council and was then again from November 16, 1973 to October 27, 1985 a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag. In addition, he held the function of SPÖ city and district party chairman within the party and was a member of the ÖGB district leadership.
