Josef Pühringer (politician, 1910)

Josef Pühringer (born August 12, 1910 in Hörsching ; † October 22, 1989 in Traun , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). In 1967 he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

His son of the same name was the governor of Upper Austria for many years .

Life

Josef Pühringer was a trained master tailor and from 1937 worked as a freelance clothes maker in Traun. From 1947 onwards he held various functions in the Chamber of Commerce , for example as deputy section chairman of the commercial section, from 1950 as guild master deputy of the clothing makers and from 1957 as section chairman of the commercial section. In 1949 his son of the same name , who later became Governor of Upper Austria, was born.

From 1950 he was a member of the board of trustees of the economic research institute , 1957/58 he was deputy chairman of the master medical insurance fund of the craft, in 1969 he became chairman of the commercial self-employed health insurance fund. Pühringer was a member of the local council in Traun, where he also served as the local ÖVP party chairman. On March 29, 1967 he was in the XIX. Legislative term as a deputy of the Upper Austrian parliament sworn in , on 16 November 1967, he resigned from the Diet again.

He received the professional title of Kommerzialrat and was awarded the Great Silver Medal of Honor by the Chamber of Commerce in 1970. Pühringer died in 1989 at the age of 79.
