Josef Pürzl (born March 17, 1852 in Weikersdorf am Steinfelde , † May 17, 1930 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Josef Pürzl graduated from the Realschule Wiener Neustadt in 1870 and studied from 1870 to 1874 at the civil engineering school of the Technical University in Vienna. From 1879 he worked as a senior civil engineer in the building construction department of the city building office, from 1897 as a senior engineer. He was a knight of the Franz Joseph Order .

meaning

Pürzl was a late historical architect who executed several large public buildings in Vienna. He used different styles from neo-Gothic to neo-Baroque to the home style , matching the various building projects. In essays and discussions he also dealt with urban planning problems.
