Josef Peck

Josef Peck (born April 28, 1925 in Andau ; † February 3, 1997 ibid) was an Austrian farmer, cooper and politician ( SPÖ ). He was a member of the Burgenland Landtag and a member of the National Council .

Life

Peck was born as the son of the farmer Johann Peck from Andau. He attended elementary school in Andau and then worked in agriculture and in the wine business. Between 1942 and 1945 he was employed in the Reich Labor Service and in the German Wehrmacht . In 1950 he became a master cooper .

Peck was married.

Peck was Andau's municipal treasurer in 1962 and held the office of mayor between 1963 and 1992 . Peck was also Chamber Councilor from 1968 and from 1985 to 1993 Third President of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture. In addition, Peck held the office of SPÖ chairman for the Neusiedl am See district between 1980 and 1988. Furthermore, Peck was a member of the state party executive and the state presidium of the SPÖ Burgenland as well as vice-president of the Burgenland community representatives association. From April 17, 1968 to July 6, 1981, Peck was a member of the Burgenland Landtag and was a member of the National Council between July 1, 1981 and December 31, 1989.
