Josef Rainer (born July 12, 1881 in Deutschlandsberg , Styria , † February 4, 1962 there ) was an Austrian politician (non-attached).

Life

Josef Rainer was a farmer and winegrower who ran his own farm in Burgegg , then an independent cadastral community of today's town of Deutschlandsberg, until 1938 ( vlg. Nebelhansl) and then on the "Burgeggerberg" (vlg. Schafferhiasl) until his death .

In 1910 Josef Rainer was elected mayor of Burgegg, and he held the office for 25 years until 1935. From 1919 to 1920 Josef Rainer was also briefly a non-attached member of the Styrian state parliament . After a seven-year hiatus, he again entered the Styrian state parliament in 1927, a mandate he held until 1932.

At the federal level, Josef Rainer was from April 27, 1934 until its dissolution on May 2, 1934 - for only six days - a member of the Landbund in the Federal Council in Vienna .
