Josef Reichl (politician, 1907)

Josef Reichl (born July 6, 1907 in Schaltdorf , today Rottenburg an der Laaber , † June 19, 1986 in Rottenburg an der Laaber) was a German politician who initially belonged to the Bavarian Party and later to the CSU .

Reichl attended the elementary and advanced training school as well as the agricultural school in Landshut, which he successfully completed. In his younger years he worked on his parents' farm, which he took over in 1934. He held a leading position in the Catholic youth organization and later held the office of first chairman of a dairy cooperative.

Reichl's political career began in 1948. He belonged to the district council of the Rottenburg an der Laaber district and was the second mayor of the Pattendorf community . On May 2, 1951, he moved to the Bavarian state parliament for the retired Anton von Aretin . In 1954 he was re-elected via the Lower Bavaria constituency list of the Bavarian Party, but left it a short time later and switched to the CSU. In the elections in 1958, his mandate was confirmed. In 1962 he missed the mandate, but on August 24, 1964 he replaced the late Leopold Lerch in the state parliament, from which he finally resigned in 1964.
