Josef Reil

Josef Reil (born October 8, 1877 in Sankt Georgen am Leithagebirge ; † April 30, 1933 there ) was an Austrian farmer and politician ( CS ). Reil was married, was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1924 to 1933 and was the second and third president of the Landtag.

Reil was born as the son of the farmer Josef Reil from Sankt Georgen. He attended elementary school and was subsequently active as a farmer in Sankt Georgen. He was involved in the Christian Social Party and between 1923 and 1931 was mayor of the Sankt Georgen community. Within the party, Reil held the function of a member of the state party executive and from 1930 was district leader of the Heimwehr. Reil was elected as a member of the Burgenland Landtag on October 28, 1924, after Anton Ratz left it. Reil also moved up after Nikolaus Freyberger resigned as second president of the state parliament and switched to the post of third state parliament president after the end of the legislative period. Until his death in 1933, Reil was a member of the state parliament and third president of the state parliament.
