Josef Sabaini

Josef Sabaini (* 1949 in Vienna ) is an Austrian violinist , concertmaster , conductor and professor at the Anton Bruckner Private University .

Life

Josef Sabaini studied at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz from 1965 to 1968 and passed the diploma examination with distinction. From 1968 to 1978 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Ricardo Odnoposoff and Franz Samohyl , followed by private studies in Bern with Max Rostal from 1979 to 1980, and from 1981 to 1983 he studied at the College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, USA with Jens Ellermann in violin and with Walter Levin in chamber music.

From 1968 to 1981 he was concertmaster with the ORF Chamber Orchestra. From 1971 to 1981 he was concertmaster in the Bruckner Orchestra Linz . From 1985 to 2004 he was professor for violin at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, and in 2004 he qualified as university professor for violin at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz.

In 1986 he founded the Harmonices mundi chamber orchestra in Linz and the Philharmonices mundi symphony orchestra in 1991 , both of which he directs.
