Josef Stockinger (born January 15, 1958 in Wels ) is an Austrian insurance manager and CEO of Oberösterreichische Versicherung AG . Before that he was a politician and Upper Austrian Provincial Councilor ( ÖVP ) for agricultural matters.

biography

Josef Stockinger grew up as the oldest of five children on his parents' farm in Aistersheim . His father was the mayor of that community for over two decades. After attending elementary school, he completed the grammar school Kollegium Petrinum in Linz and, after passing the Matura, studied law at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz .

That of Wilhelm Molterer to participate in the Student Union recruits was first chairman of the Linz Student Union. From 1981 to 1983, Josef Stockinger was the first representative of a federal state university to chair the Austrian Students' Union in Vienna. After completing his law studies, he worked as an office manager for the Upper Austrian Provincial Councilor Leopold Hofinger . Here he met Molterer, who was his office colleague, and Ernst Strasser . At the same time he was working in the Upper Austrian Farmers' Union.

From 1989 to 1997 he was director of the Upper Austrian Farmers' Union , from 1994 a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament and from 1997 club chairman. On October 23, 2003 Stockinger was appointed to the state council. His areas of responsibility were agriculture, forestry, veterinary services, municipalities, fire police and civil protection.

On September 16, 2010, he announced his retirement from politics on October 7, 2010. He moved to the executive floor of the Upper Austrian Insurance Company as general secretary and authorized signatory . Since October 2011, Stockinger Executive Director and since October 8, 2012 Director General and CEO . On March 5, 2020, the company announced that Stockinger would retire from the position of CEO at the end of the year.

Stockinger is married and has four children, including the castle actress Marie-Luise Stockinger .
