Josef Veit

Josef Veit (born March 15, 1850 in Ebenthal ; † March 1, 1949 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and business owner. From 1909 to 1921 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria .

Life

Veit attended elementary school and then passed the post and telegraph exams. Subsequently he worked as a business owner and postmaster.

Veit was politically active between 1891 and 1919 as mayor of Ebenthal, he was also active as chairman of the district road committee and member of the district school council. He represented the Christian Social Party between January 8, 1909 and January 8, 1915 in the Lower Austrian state parliament, where he had been elected as a member of the Marchegg and Matzen judicial districts. After the First World War, he was a member of the provisional state assembly from November 5, 1918 to May 4, 1919. He then belonged to the state parliament from May 20, 1919, where he was a member of the Lower Austria-Land Curia between November 30, 1920 and May 11, 1921 during the phase of separation of Vienna from Lower Austria. Veit left the state parliament on May 11, 1921. Veit also ran for the Reichsrat election in 1911, but lost to Josef Bogendorfer in a runoff .
