Josef Wagenbrenner

Josef Wagenbrenner (born July 2, 1880 in Estenfeld / Würzburg district , † October 28, 1953 in Rastatt ) was a portrait and church painter. He came from a Franconian gilding family who worked on numerous baroque and neo-Gothic altars in the diocese of Würzburg for two centuries .

Live and act

After his apprenticeship with his father and attending the drawing school of the Polytechnischer Zentralverein in Würzburg , Wagenbrenner studied art in Karlsruhe and Munich. He then moved to Rastatt, where he worked as a church painter in the Archdiocese of Freiburg.
