Josef Wehrle (sculptor)

Josef Wehrle (* 1943 in Memmingen ) is a German wood sculptor.

Life

Josef Wehrle, the son of a farmer from Unteropfingen , completed an apprenticeship as a farmer from 1957 to 1962 before he trained as a wood sculptor at a state vocational school. Since 1976 he has been working as a freelance artist. He also took over his parents' farm in Unteropfingen and ran it until 2000. Since then, Josef Wehrle has devoted himself exclusively to his art.

Public purchases

The Klage plant was purchased from the Dillingen teacher training center . The village fountain in Berkheim was also designed by Josef Wehrle ( Willebold ). The Dettingen Town Hall adorns the piece of witnesses . In 2010 he created a village well for Oberopfingen .
