Josef della Reina

Josef della Reina (* 1418 ; † 1472 in Sidon ) was a kabbalistic - messianic enthusiast in Galilee who was killed while trying to force salvation through a violent incantation.

His fate was treated literarily by Agnon and Jizchak Bashevis Singer ; furthermore by a Messiah poem by Meir Wieners (Vienna 1919).
