Josep Mascaró Pasarius (* 1923 in Alaior , Menorca ; † 1996 in Palma , Mallorca ) was a Spanish historian , cartographer and archaeologist .

Josep Mascaró Pasarius was self-taught and independently familiarized himself with the history and archeology of the Balearic Islands . 1947 to 1951 published a map of Menorca and 1952 to 1962 of Mallorca. He published numerous writings that dealt with the history of the Balearic Islands, such as the multi-volume Historia de Mallorca . It is considered useful in the professional world, despite the lack of strict scientificity and its anecdotal character. Mascaró Pasarius also developed a five-volume map of the Balearic Islands. In addition, he wrote a bibliography of all writings on the archeology of Mallorca.

In 1961, together with Juan Camps Coll , he discovered the dolmen of Son Bauló de Dalt .

It is also claimed that he was the only one who stepped on all 151 islands and rocks protruding from the sea around Mallorca.
