Joseph-Marie-François de Lassone

Joseph-Marie-François de Lassone (born July 3, 1717 in Carpentras , † December 10, 1788 ) was a French doctor .

His father Anthony Joachim served as the royal personal physician and enabled him to train at the Hôpital de la Charité under Sauveur François Morand . At the age of 21, he received an award from the Académie nationale de chirurgie for his work on breast cancer . At the age of 25 he became professor at the Faculté de médecine de Paris with admission to the Académie des Sciences .

In 1751 he became the Queen's personal physician and later, around 1771 as successor to Joseph Lieutaud (1703–1780), of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI.

In 1776 he founded the Société royale de médecine with Félix Vicq d'Azyr . During this time he also carried out chemical experiments with tartaric zinc , heated verdigris and the spontaneous ignition of phosphorus (1780). His pupil was Claude-Melchior Cornette (1744–1794).
