Joseph Arend

Joseph Arend (born June 22, 1885 in Kassel ; † March 6, 1938 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Arend was the son of the architect Christian Friedrich Arend and his wife Anna Agnes nee Henze. He married Friederike Schneider on January 8, 1912 in Kassel.

Arend attended high school and the technical school and then worked as a construction technician and architect for various companies and municipal building authorities. Most recently he was head of the branch office of the employment office in Bad Wildungen. From December 1925 (as a replacement for Heinrich Kramer ) to 1929 he was a member of the Waldeck regional representation for the SPD . In 1933 Arend , who lived in Bad Wildungen , lost his position as head of the branch office of the Bad Wildungen employment office, was taken into " protective custody " and taken to the Breitenau concentration camp because of derogatory remarks about the National Socialist movement . He was imprisoned there from July 28, 1933 to August 21, 1933.
