Joseph Carola
Joseph Anthony Francis Ignatius Carola SJ (* 1962 in Houston , Texas ) is an American religious priest and Roman Catholic theologian .
Life
1980 Joseph Carola joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in New Orleans in 1993 and received the priesthood . He studied Philosophy and Modern Languages at Saint Louis University and then theology at the Weston School of Theology and the Pontifical Gregorian University . In 2001 he received his doctorate at the Pontifical Patristic Institute Augustinianum in Rome with a thesis on theology and patristicism . Since 2002 he has held a chair for patristic theology at the Gregoriana in Rome.
Carola published on the Augustine Lexicon and Augustine Research, mainly in the journals Venerabile , Gregorianum and Augustinian Studies .
