Joseph Cheng Tien-Siang
Joseph Cheng Tien-Siang ( Chinese 鄭天祥 , Pinyin Zhèng Tiānxiáng ; born June 28, 1922 in Fuzhou , Republic of China , † August 19, 1990 in Kaohsiung , Taiwan ) was a Chinese clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church , Dominican , Bishop of Kaohsiung and Archbishop ad personam .
Life
Joseph Cheng Tien Siang received on 28 August 1952, the sacrament of Holy Orders . From 1958 to 1961 he was the first principal of the newly formed St. Dominic Catholic High School in Kaohsiung . In 1961 Pope John XXIII appointed him . first bishop of the newly established Kaohsiung diocese . On October 30, 1979, Cheng was bestowed the personal title of Archbishop by Pope John Paul II .
