Joseph Christian Fengler
Joseph Christian Fengler (born September 17, 1733 in Vienna ; † February 4, 1802 there ) was an Austrian clergyman and bishop of Raab .
Life
Fengler entered the Piarist order in 1751 and became a priest in 1757. For several years he was a teacher at the Savoy Knight Academy in Günzburg in Upper Austria . In 1769 he became director of the kk military academy and priest in Wiener Neustadt . In 1786 he was appointed Commendatarabbot of Melk Abbey , and in 1787 Bishop of Raab. Consecrated by Archbishop József Cardinal Batthyány on April 3, 1788 , it was installed there on April 23, 1788.
