Joseph Comiti

Joseph Comiti (born June 4, 1920 in Sotta , Département Corse-du-Sud , † November 10, 2000 in Bastia , Haute-Corse ) was a French politician who was a member of the National Assembly and was temporarily a minister.

Life

After studying medicine, Joseph Comiti worked as a surgeon and professor of medicine. On June 30, 1968 he became a member of the National Assembly (Assemblée nationale) for the Union des démocrates pour la République (UDR) in the Bouches-du-Rhône department for the first time and was a member of this until he resigned on August 12, 1968. A month earlier, on July 13, 1968, he was appointed State Secretary to the Prime Minister for Youth and Sport (Secrétaire d'État chargé de la Jeunesse et des Sports) in the Couve de Murville cabinet . In the subsequent Chaban-Delma cabinet , he served as State Secretary to the Prime Minister for Youth, Sports and Leisure (Secrétaire d'État chargé de la Jeunesse, des Sports et des Loisirs) . In this function, he criticized the training methods as well as the behavior of the skiers during the Alpine Ski World Cup 1971/72 and stated that the results were proof of the need for a new leadership. In the Messmer I cabinet (July 7, 1972 to March 29, 1973) he continued to be State Secretary to the Prime Minister for Youth, Sports and Leisure.

Comiti became a member of the National Assembly again on April 2, 1973 in the Bouches-du-Rhône department for the Union des démocrates pour la République. He put this mandate on May 5, 1973 down after April 6, 1973 as Minister with responsibility for Relations with Parliament (Ministre chargé des Relations avec le Parliament) in the Cabinet Messmer III was appointed, he to 28 February 1974 belonged to. On March 19, 1978, he was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate for the Rassemblement pour la République (RPR) in the Bouches-du-Rhône department and was a member of the National Assembly until May 22, 1981.
