Joseph Dantonello

Joseph Dantonello (born April 6, 1891 in Oettingen in Bavaria ; † January 15, 1945 in Augsburg ) was a German composer, music teacher, singer and conductor. He was one of Augsburg's formative church musicians in the period between the two world wars.

Dantonello, a primary school teacher by profession, was choirmaster in Hirblingen and with St. Peter and Paul in Augsburg-Oberhausen from 1925 . He was also head of the Augsburg-Oberhausen Singing Association, the Augsburg Singschulfiliale in Oberhausen and the classes for choir and opera choir singing at the municipal conservatory. He fell victim to an air raid on the city of Augsburg. His works are compositions of sacred and secular choral music.
