Joseph Delaney (2008)

Joseph Henry Delaney (* 1945 in Preston , Lancashire , England ) is a British author of fantasy books. He became known in particular through the books for young people in the Spook cycle .

Life

Delaney graduated from Lancaster University and then attempted technical training before teaching as an English teacher at Blackpool Sixth Form College. There he was co-founder of the Media and Film Studies Department. At this time he also started writing his first texts.

His first novel, which he published under the pseudonym JK Haderack , went largely unnoticed. The first books of the Spook cycle ( The Wardstone Chronicles ) appeared in 2004 . The books about the ghost hunter Thomas Ward were a great success. After the second part was published, Delaney quit his job to devote himself entirely to writing.

Delaney has three children.
