Joseph Fofé

Joseph Fofé Tapydji (* 1935 or 1936; † October 2, 2010 in Paris ) was a Cameroonian diplomat and politician .

biography

Fofé studied dental surgery at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Nantes and worked as a dentist after his state examination and his return to Cameroon in 1966 . Most recently he was medical advisor at the Central Hospital in Yaoundé between 1983 and 1984 .

On February 4, 1984, President Paul Biya appointed him Minister of Labor and Social Welfare and was a member of the government until August 24, 1985. He was also Minister for Youth and Sport between November 21, 1986 and December 7, 1990. As such, he was dismissed after the elimination of the Cameroonian national soccer team at the World Cup in Italy in 1990 .

Most recently, he was an associate in August 2008 and Plenipotentiary Ambassador in the Central African Republic .
