Joseph Maria von Radowitz (General)

Joseph Maria von Radowitz (born July 29, 1899 in Frankfurt am Main ; † May 31, 1956 in Bad Wiessee ) was a German officer , lieutenant general in World War II and most recently major general in the German Bundeswehr .

Life

Radowitz served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the Reichswehr . During the Second World War he was in command of the 23rd Panzer Division .

Radowitz headed the acceptance point in the newly established Bundeswehr of the Federal Republic of Germany.

He was buried with military honors in the cemetery in Kleiningersheim (municipality of Ingersheim). His tombstone is still there today (as of 2018).
