Joseph Paulo (born January 2, 1988 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand rugby league player who plays for the Parramatta Eels in the NRL . He usually plays as a second-line striker, but he can also be used in other positions. He has played for both the Samoan and US national teams.

life and career

Paulo was born in Auckland and attended the Patrician Brother's College in Blacktown, a suburb of Blacktown City in Sydney . He comes from American Samoa and is therefore eligible to play for the Samoan and US national teams. He is also a player for the Australian Schoolboys.

He first played with the St. Clair Comets junior team and began his NRL career with the Penrith Panthers in 2008 . In 2011 he moved to the Parramatta Eels .

With Samoa he took part in the Rugby League World Cup in 2008 and the Pacific Cup in 2009.

In 2011 he moved to the USA and took part with them in qualifying for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup. After successfully qualifying, he took part in the World Cup as captain.
