Joseph Pichler
Joseph von Pichler (born May 9, 1730 in Kötschach , † 1808 in Lerchenfeld near Vienna ) was an Austrian painter who is best known for his frescoes .
Life
As the son of poor parents, he was initially a cattle herder . He received his first painting lessons in Lienz . In 1752 he came to Vienna, where he attended the kk painter academy . With his teacher Vinzenz Fischer he specialized among other things in architectural painting. As a result of his work at Laxenburg Castle , he was ennobled.
