Joseph Sun Zhibin
Joseph Sun Zhibin ( April 4, 1911 , † October 23, 2008 ) was Catholic Bishop of the Apostolic Prefecture of Iduhsien .
Life
Joseph Sun Zhibin studied from 1923 at the seminary and received the 1939 ordination . In 1953, he was sentenced to four years in prison for his belief and imprisoned. During the Chinese Cultural Revolution , he was a slave laborer in a shoe factory. He was only able to resume pastoral work in 1980.
Joseph Sun Zhibin was appointed bishop of Iduhsien (Yiduxian) Apostolic Prefecture in east China's Shandong Province on April 24, 1988 . He was China's oldest bishop.
Representatives of the local authorities also attended the requiem for Bishop Sun in Yidu Cathedral on October 29, 2008.
