Joseph Wengert

Joseph Wengert (born February 18, 1835 in Ellwangen , † August 29, 1896 in Dirgenheim ) was a Catholic clergyman, editor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Wengert attended high school in Ellwangen and did his university studies from 1853 to 1857 in Tübingen . In 1858 he ordained and from 1866 he was pastor in Dirgenheim. From 1873 to 1891 he was editor of the newspaper Der Ipf and the Katholisches Wochenblatt from Bopfingen .

From 1893 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 13 ( Aalen , Gaildorf , Neresheim , Ellwangen ) and the German Center Party . The mandate expired with his death.
