Bob Acri
Bob Acri or Robert R. Acri (* 1918 in Chicago , Illinois , † July 25, 2013 in Evanston , Illinois) was an American jazz pianist .
Acri attended Austin High School and worked as a musician in the NBC and ABC radio orchestras and in the house band of the Chicago club, Mr. Kelly . He went on tour with Harry James and accompanied Lena Horne , Mike Douglas , Ella Fitzgerald and Barbra Streisand , but also Buddy Rich and Woody Herman .
He gained fame primarily through his sample music for the Windows 7 computer operating system , specifically the song Sleep Away . Only in old age did he record albums under his own name.
