Joseph Willaert (born April 23, 1936 in Leke , Diksmuide , † April 2, 2014 in Ostend ) was a Belgian painter . He was self-taught and became known for his works of pop art and hyperrealism . In 1976 he represented Belgium at the Biennale di Venezia with an installation of 18 cibachromes . In 1993 he designed the Clemenceau metro station in Brussels. His works can be found in various museums such as PMMK and Groeningemuseum .
