Josh Culbreath

Josh Culbreath (actually Joshua Culbreath ; born September 14, 1932 in Norristown , Pennsylvania ) is a former American hurdler whose specialty was the 400-meter distance .

In 1956 he completed an all-American podium as a bronze medalist at the Olympic Games in Melbourne (gold went to Glenn Davis , silver to Eddie Southern ).

At the Pan American Games, Culbreath won gold in Mexico City in 1955 and in Chicago in 1959 . He was also from 1953 to 1955 three times in a row US champion over 440 yard hurdles and 1959 US indoor champion over 600 yards.

Josh Culbreath graduated from Morgan State College with a degree in Political Science in 1955 . He then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958 .
