German Chess League 2010/11

The 2010/11 season was the 31st season of the German Federal Chess League . Champion became defending champion OSG Baden-Baden . Delmenhorster SK (group north), ESV Nickelhütte Aue (group east) and SV Griesheim (group south) were newly promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . The SG Porz , master of Group West, renounced the rise, as is the second and third place, the SC Hansa Dortmund and the SG Bochum 31 . All three newcomers were relegated, as did FC Bayern Munich . The decision about the last relegation place was made in a play-off between Schachfreunde Berlin and SV Griesheim on April 30, 2011 , which the Berliners won with 4.5: 3.5. The win of Alexei Schirow (OSG Baden-Baden) against David Baramidze (Hamburger SK) was voted the best game of the season .

The double rounds were on 9/10. October 2010, 13./14. November 2010, 11./12. December 2010, 4-6 February 2011, 26./27. February 2011, 19./20. March 2011 and 9./10. April 2011, with the fights of the travel partners taking place until February 4th.

time to think

Since the 2009/10 season, every player has 100 minutes to think about for the first 40 moves, 50 minutes for the next 20 moves and 15 minutes until the end of the game. From the first move on, each player receives a time credit of 30 seconds per move until the end of the game. Draw offers before move 20 are prohibited. Exceptions are draws through three repetitions of positions.
