Josh Fox (born 1972 in Milanville , Pennsylvania ) is an American film producer , director and screenwriter for documentary films .

Career

Josh Fox was born in Milanville, Pennsylvania in 1972 and attended Columbia University .

In the film business he joined in 2008 for the first time in appearance, when he for the film Memorial Day in addition to his directorial work as a film producer was responsible and writer wrote it. Fox achieved international fame with the Oscar nomination for his documentary Gasland at the 2011 Academy Awards . The idea for the film arose when a company offered him 100,000 US dollars for his country in May 2008 in order to develop the gas reserves there. He received mixed reviews for this film, and resistance to fracking grew even in Europe .

He then produced the documentary Gasland Part II for Home Box Office (HBO) , which was broadcast in 2013.
