Joshua Booth

Joshua Booth (born October 9, 1990 in Melbourne ) is an Australian rower who was second in the 2016 Olympics with the four-man without a helmsman .

Athletic career

Booth finished ninth at the U23 World Championships in 2010 with the Australian eighth . At the 2010 World Championships in the adult class, he finished seventh in a four-man without a helmsman. In 2011 Booth rowed eighth in Australia. After a seventh place at the Rowing World Cup in Lucerne, the crew finished fourth at the 2011 World Championships . The following year, the Australian eighth finished sixth at the 2012 Olympics .

In 2013 and 2014 Booth concentrated more on his medical studies, in rowing he only competed in the Rowing World Cup in Sydney. In 2015 he returned to the national team and finished ninth at the world championships with eighth place . In 2016, Booth competed in a four without a helmsman. Together with William Lockwood , Alexander Hill and Joshua Dunkley-Smith , he won the silver medal behind the British boat at the 2016 Olympic Games .

After a year off, Booth returned to the regatta courses in 2018 as a member of the Australian eight. At the World Championships in Plovdiv , the Australians won silver behind the Germans and ahead of the British.

The 1.90 m tall Joshua Booth rows for the Rowing Club of the University of Melbourne .
