Copa México 1975/76

The Copa MX 1975/76 was the 33rd edition of the football - cup competition since the introduction of professional football in Mexico . The 20 teams that were represented in the top division in the 1975/76 season were eligible to participate . The UANL Tigres team, founded in 1967 and promoted to the first division in 1974, won the cup .

mode

The tournament was played in the preliminary round with five groups, each consisting of four teams that competed against each other twice (in a home and away game). The special thing about this tournament was that the four group winners with the highest points qualified for the semi-finals played in the knockout system and the group winners with the worst points (in this case Atlético Español FC with only eight points) were eliminated, as were the other teams.
