Joshua Reinecke (born July 20, 1987 in Johannesburg ) is a South African ice hockey player who has played for the Toronto Garys since 2012. Reinecke's elder Gareth is also a South African national ice hockey player.

Career

Joshua Reinecke first played with the Thornhill Rattlers in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. From 2005 to 2008 he was with the Markham Waxers in the same league under contract. He currently works for the Toronto Garys.

International

Reinecke was already on the ice at U-18 and U-20 World Championships for his home country. At the U-18 World Cup in 2002 , he and the South Africans were promoted from Division III to Division II, from which the team was immediately relegated the following year .

In the men's national team he made his debut at the 2007 World Cup in Division III. Then he was only back on the ice at the 2012 World Cup when South Africa was relegated from Division II. At the 2013 World Cup in his own country, he and his team were immediately promoted to Division II, to which he made a significant contribution with nine goals and seven preparations. Reinecke was the top scorer of the Division III tournament with nine goals. He was voted the best striker and with 16 points was also the second best scorer of the tournament after his brother Gareth (18 points).
