Career

player

Gareth Reinecke, about whose club career little information is available, was on the ice for his home country at the U-20-D World Championships in 2000 and 2001 .

He made his debut in the men's national team even before his appearances in the U-20 team at the D-World Cup in 1999 . The South Africans finished fifth at the tournament held in their home town of Krugersdorp . Reinecke was also involved in the D-WM 2000 in Reykjavík , when his team finished fourth. In the 2002 and 2003 he played with South Africa in Division II. At the 2005 World Cup , he played in Division III, since South Africa had been relegated the year before without Reinecke's participation. With his significant participation, Reinecke scored seven goals himself and prepared another seven, his team succeeded in the immediate promotion to Division II. At the 2007 World Cup , his team had to compete in the lowest division, after they - again without him - again last in 2006 in Division II. This time, however, Reinecke could not ensure the rise again. After only one win (14-1 against Mongolia ) and three defeats, the South Africans missed the rebound.

After that, he was only back on the ice at the 2013 World Cup in his own country. There he and his team were promoted to Division II, to which he made a significant contribution with four goals and fourteen preparations. With 18 points, Reinecke was not only the best scorer of the tournament, ahead of his brother Joshua (16 points), but his fourteen goal preparations also remained unmatched.

Trainer

At the World Cup of U-18 Juniors in 2011 , Reinecke acted as assistant coach for the South African team that competed in Division III.
