Josip Komarac (born July 10, 1991 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player of Croatian origin.
Club career
Komarac started his career at SC Red Star Penzing before joining the youth team at the Vienna sports club at the turn of the millennium . Two years later, there was another change to the youth team at SK Rapid Wien , before he returned to the WSK in 2007 and was used for the Dornbacher B-Elf .
After eight goals in 15 league appearances for the second team in the 2007/08 season, he was accepted into the senior team for the following season, but only made three short appearances as a substitute due to an oversupply of established players in his position. At the same time, however, he became a top performer in the B-team and presented himself as a strong midfielder with 17 goals in 25 games.
After the departure of service provider Salmin Čehajić to SV Horn before the 2009/10 season, Komarac should be built up in the medium term as his replacement, whereupon his contract was extended by two years. Contrary to expectations, however, Mirza Berkovic , who also came from his own youth, overtook him and established himself on the position of Cehajic. Komarac made ten league appearances, only once over the full distance.
In summer 2010, then the change to which followed Turkey for just returned to the 1. Lig Bank Asya ascended Güngören Belediyespor . At the end of the season he managed to stay in league with the club on rank 15. Komarac came to ten league appearances with one goal. In spring 2012 he dissolved his contract with the Turkish second division club.
