Henri Gregoire Saivet (born October 26, 1990 in Dakar ) is a Senegalese football player . The Senegalese international played for the Senegalese senior team for the first time in 2013 .

Career

Saivet played in the youth division of the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux . For the first team he made his debut on May 17, 2008 in the away game against RC Lens in Ligue 1 , after he was substituted on in the 78th minute for Marouane Chamakh . The 2010/11 season spent as Saivet Players out on loan in Ligue 2 at SCO Angers .

In mid-January 2016 Saivet moved to Newcastle United in the English Premier League .

National team

Saivet played for various French youth national teams . He has been active for the Senegalese national team since 2013 . For the African Cup of Nations 2015 Saivet was appointed to the Senegalese squad; Senegal were eliminated in the group stage with four points. Only two years later, at the Africa Cup of 2017 , he was again in the Senegalese squad; There Saivet scored the final score of 2-0 with a free kick in the second group match against Zimbabwe. After poor performances at Newcastle and Bursaspor, he was not considered for the 2018 World Cup .

Saivet will be part of the Senegalese squad at the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 in Egypt . In the semi-final game, the 1-0 victory afterwards, he gave the template for victory. In doing so, he secured the Senegalese ticket to the final for the second time since 2002 .
