Marouane Chamakh ( Arabic مروان الشماخ, DMG Marwān aš-Šammāḫ ; * January 10, 1984 in Tonneins , Lot-et-Garonne ) is a Moroccan - French football player on the position of center forward .
Career
In the club
With Bordeaux he won the French league cup in 2007, the runner-up in 2008 and finally Ligue 1 in 2009. During the 2010 summer break, Arsenal FC signed Chamakh on a free transfer. He signed a long-term contract. In early January 2013, Chamakh was awarded to league rivals West Ham United until the end of the 2012/13 season . For the 2013/14 season , Chamakh moved to the Premier League promoted Crystal Palace . He signed a contract until the end of the season.
In the national team
As an adolescent , Chamakh had also played an encounter for the French U19 national team .
Chamakh has played 63 times for the Moroccan national football team and represented his country at the 2004 Africa Cup in Tunisia , the 2006 Africa Cup in Egypt , the 2008 Africa Cup in Ghana and the 2012 Africa Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon , with the Moroccan National soccer team after the runner-up in 2004 constantly eliminated in the preliminary round.
