Jost Schieren (2016)

Jost Schieren (* 1963 ) is a German educator and university lecturer.

Life

Schieren studied philosophy , German literature and art history at the Ruhr University Bochum in Bochum. In 1997 he did his doctorate at the University of Essen on the subject of visual judgment. Methodological and philosophical foundations of Goethe's scientific knowledge . From 1996 to 2006 he worked as a German teacher at the Rudolf Steiner School in Dortmund and from 2004 to 2008 as a research assistant at the University of Paderborn . Since 2006 he has been a visiting professor at the Rudolf Steiner University College in Oslo. Since 2008 he has been Professor of School Education with a focus on Waldorf Education and Dean of the Faculty of Education at the Alanus University for Art and Society in Alfter near Bonn . His research focus is on educational research and discussion of the theory and practice of Waldorf education.
