Joyce Jameson

Joyce Jameson (born September 26, 1932 in Chicago , Illinois , † January 16, 1987 in Burbank , California ) was an American theater, film and television actress .

biography

Jameson had her first film role in 1951 with a tiny supporting role in Show Boat , neither in the credits nor in the credits . However, this was the beginning of a spectacular screen and screen career, during which Jameson would have over 100 appearances in films and television series of all genres .

Jameson became known internationally for two horror parodies in the 1960s, in which she was seen alongside Vincent Price , Peter Lorre , Boris Karloff and Basil Rathbone : Tales of Terror ( The Horrible Mr. X , USA 1962) and The Comedy of Terrors ( Ruhe Sanft GmbH , USA 1963). Above all in The Comedy of Terrors she was able to prove her comic talent in the role of the wife of the drunk funeral director Trumbull, especially the vocal parts of the Jameson, which are also preserved in the German dubbed version in the original.

In private life, Jameson's life was less cheerful. She was married to Billy Barnes , who as in the 1950s and 1960s, the traded Revue specialist Hollywood, however, fall into almost total oblivion. She also appeared in some of her husband's satirical revues. The marriage failed and was divorced. Joyce Jameson committed in 1987 on 16 January suicide .
