Juan Alfonso de Baena (* around 1375 in Baena ; † 1434 in Córdoba ) was a Castilian troubadour and song collector.

Juan Al (f) onso de Baena served as escribano escribiente ( scribe and notary ) at the court of Juan II . He was probably of Marran / Jewish origin , which explains his nickname Judino .

A collection of mainly Castilian songs from the 14th and 15th centuries that he undertook is now known as the Cancionero de Baena and is considered one of the most important medieval cancioneros . The collection was created between 1426 and 1430; the first printed edition appeared in Madrid in 1851. The collection contains 385 works by 56 authors, including several Marranos.
