Juan Antonio San Epifanio Ruiz , Epi , (born June 12, 1959 in Saragossa ) is a famous Spanish basketball player .

He was one of the most important players in Europe in the 1980s, with 239 games for the Spanish national team. With FC Barcelona he won 7 championships and won 11 cup wins.

He took part with the Spanish national basketball team in the 1980 , 1984 , 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal in 1984.

At the opening ceremony of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , he was the penultimate runner with the Olympic torch .

Juan Antonio San Epifanio was honored in May 2008 as one of the fifty great personalities of the sport of basketball in Europe . The award was given by the Euroleague Basketball in an official ceremony in the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid , in Madrid ( Spain ).
