Juan Cáceres

Juan Ignacio Cáceres (born May 1, 1984 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan racing car driver .

Career

Cáceres began his motorsport career in karting in 1995 , where he was active until 1998. In 1999 he was in the Argentine Formula Honda his debut in Formula racing . After competing in the US Barber Formula Dodge in 2000 and in the Argentine Formula Honda and the Italian Formula Renault in 2001 , he took part in the Argentine Formula Renault in 2002.

In 2003, Cáceres moved again to Europe and became champion of the Portuguese Formula BMW . In 2004 the Uruguayan competed in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship and finished 14th in the championship. In 2005 he switched to GP Racing in the Italian Formula 3000 . With a third place as the best result, he finished fifth overall. He also took part in Formula 1 test drives for Minardi , who cooperated with GP Racing . In 2006 he took part in the first six race weekends of the Euroseries 3000, the successor series to the Italian Formula 3000. He was then replaced by Davide Rigon . In the overall ranking, the Uruguayan finished seventh with two second places. After the end of his engagement, he took part in a champ car race for Dale Coyne Racing .

In 2007 Cáceres found no cockpit in a formula series and took part in four races of the TC 2000 , an Argentine touring car series. In 2008 he played the entire season in the TC 2000 and was 18th overall. A year later he only started in one race of the TC 2000. In 2010 he took part in four races of the Argentine Top Race V6.
