Juan Francisco Beckmann Vidal (born February 2, 1940 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican billionaire, entrepreneur and 70% owner of the tequila brand José Cuervo .

Life

Juan Beckmann Vidal was born in Mexico City and grew up in Tijuana , near the border with the United States . He studied at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and at Stanford University . In 1972 he took over the management of the tequila manufacturer José Cuervo, which has been in the family for eleven generations. In 2017 the company went public. Today he is President, while his son Juan Domingo Beckmann is Managing Director.

He is married to Maria de Jesus Dora Legorreta Santos, they have three children and live in Mexico City. Together with his son, he owns three apartments on the 31st floor of Trump Tower in New York City through the Luxembourg company Fambech Luxco .
