Juan Jacinto Rodríguez , full name Juan Jacinto Rodríguez Araújo , (born November 27, 1958 in Melo ) is a former Uruguayan football player and current coach.
Career
Player activity
Defensive player Rodríguez played from 1988 to 1990 for the Brazilian club Avaí FC .
Coaching career
Rodríguez hit a coaching career after his active career. He was the coach of the Uruguayan U-17 national team from 2000 to 2001 and took part in the 2001 U-17 South American Championship with them. The "Celeste" took sixth place in the tournament. From 2005 to the end of 2008 he worked as a trainer in the youth sector at Nacional Montevideo . He then appeared at LDU Quito from January 2009 to mid-December 2009 and immediately afterwards at SC Internacional as an assistant trainer until the end of May 2010 . In the second half of 2010 he also worked as an assistant coach at the Saudi Arabian club al-Shabab . From January 2011 to mid-May 2012 and then from July 2012 to the second half of March 2013, two more assistant coach positions at al-Sadd Sport Club in Qatar and at Club Cerro Porteño in Paraguay followed . From June 2013 to December 2013 he looked after the team of Cerro Largo FC in the Primera División . From July 2014 to mid-November 2014, he then held the position of sports director at the second division club Liverpool Montevideo , which is based in Montevideo . According to this, from July 2015 to December of that year he was employed as head coach at al-Wahda . Other sources date this career station between mid-November 2014 and the end of October 2015. In the last six months of 2016, he also took on a coaching position at Al-Ta'ee in Saudi Arabia . He has been coaching the Al-Nahda team since March 21, 2017 .
