Juan Justo Amaro

Juan Justo Amaro Corrado (born September 14, 1930 in Florida ; † May 20, 2020 there ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Juan Justo Amaro was director of the state energy utility UTE in 1965 . He then took up this position at the state-owned Administración Nacional de Combustibles, Alcohol y Portland (ANCAP).

Amaro, of the Partido Colorado belongs, after 41, 42 and 43. legislature as a representative of the department of Florida for the first time since February 15, 1972 interruptions until 14 February 1995, a Titularmandat as a deputy in the Cámara de Representantes held . At the beginning of the 1970s he was part of the Sublema Unión Nacional Reeleccionista (UNReelecc) 22 and was located in the Sublema Batllismo 22 after the phase of the civil-military dictatorship (1973–1985) . In 1988 he held the post of Third Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies. In the 41st and 42nd legislative periods, he moved to the Cámara de Senadores as deputy senator . In 1994 he won the election for Florida Intendente . In addition, until his resignation in 2003, he was chairman of the state water utility OSE . In the 46th legislative period he held a titular mandate as senator from February 15, 2005. At that time he belonged to the Sublema Uruguay es Posible of the Lista Batlle.

In 2010, in connection with his work at OSE, he had to answer in court for abuse of office, among other things. His son Juan Amaro Cedrés was also director of ANCAP at least 2010.
