Juan Manuel Ortíz , full name Juan Manuel Ortíz Prieto , (born April 14, 1982 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.81-meter-tall offensive player Ortíz belonged to the team of the Racing Club de Montevideo at the beginning of his career from 2001 to the end of 2002 . In the first six months of 2003 he then played for Club Atlético Cerro . From July 2003 to the end of June 2004 he was active at Estudiantes de La Plata in Argentina . From there he moved to Danubio FC , with whom he won the Uruguayan championship directly in the first season in 2004. Across the seasons, he ran in 41 games of the Primera División with the Montevideans and scored six goals. In July 2006 Ortíz joined the Club Sportivo Cerrito . In the Apertura 2006 he met there twice in 15 first division appearances in the opposing goal. In the Clausura 2007 the Club Atlético Peñarol was his employer. For the team of the "Aurinegros" he completed 14 games in the top Uruguayan league and scored three goals. He spent the second half of the year at the Argentine Club Atlético Huracán . Ortíz returned to Cerrito for the Clausura 2008. River Plate Montevideo signed him in July 2008 . In the 2008/09 season he was used in 14 first division games (no goal) at the Montevideo club. He was then transferred to Cerrito on loan in August 2009. At the "Auriverdes" he was used in 29 first division matches in the 2009/10 season and was noted as a goalscorer five times. In July 2010 he moved to Centro Atlético Fénix on loan . By the end of the 2013/14 season, he played 70 first division games (eight goals) and two games (no goal) in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana . In August 2014 he started working for the second division club Miramar Misiones . So far (as of April 14, 2017) he has been used in 49 clashes of the Segunda División at the merger club and scored five times in the opposing goal.
