Juan Palomar Verea

Juan Palomar Verea (born July 10, 1956 in Guadalajara ) is a Mexican architect and author of several works and specialist articles in the field of architecture and urban planning .

Life

Palomar studied in France from 1976 to 1977 and then until 1980 at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO).

He planned some structures in the states of Jalisco and Colima as well as in Mexico City ; many of them have been featured in specialist journals. Since 1983 he has been a professor at the composition workshop of the ITESO architecture school. From 1988 to 2001 he was President of the Fundación de Arquitectura Tapatía Luis Barragán . He was director of aesthetic research at the Ministry of Culture of the Federal District from 1993 to 1995 and subsequently director of town planning in the Zapopan City Hall until 1998 .

He also lectures as a professor at the Tecnológico de Guadalajara , is a member of the Council for Arts and Humanities of the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA) and of the ITESO Board of Directors. He is president of the Guadalajara section of the Alliance française and since 2007 city hall spokesman for urban planning in Guadalajara.

In 2004 he won the international design competition for the " José Vasconcelos " national library together with Alberto Kalach , Gustavo Lipkau and Tonatiuh Martínez .
